LOST BOYS
NATIONAL YOUTH THEATRE, BRITAIN
Lost Boys is a bold, funny, and deeply moving new play by award-winning Formby playwright Luke Barnes, brought to life by Britain’s most exciting emerging performers from the National Youth Theatre. Bursting with heart and energy, the production features electrifying original songs by Dom Coyote, long-time collaborator of Kneehigh, weaving music and storytelling into an unforgettable theatrical experience.
With humour and tenderness, the play interrogates masculinity, gender identity, and mental health, shining a compassionate light on the pressures faced by young people navigating labels, silence, and self-discovery. It asks urgent questions about what it means to grow up in a world that forces a narrow image of what it means to be a man, and how you survive when there are no clear maps for becoming yourself.
Lost Boys is a play for everyone: a celebration of youth, resilience, and connection; a rallying cry for empathy; and a powerful reminder that finding your voice can be the difference between being lost and being found.
