QUEENS OF SYRIA

A group of Syrian women, living in exile in Jordan, come together to create an extraordinary contemporary reimagining of Euripides’ The Trojan Women.

Performed by an all-female cast of Syrian refugees, the production boldly interweaves the women’s lived experiences of war, loss, and displacement with the ancient Greek text. Their personal testimonies of exile, survival, and resilience are fused with the classical narrative to create a piece of theatre that is raw, urgent, and profoundly human.

Bearing witness to history through their own bodies and memories, their stories demand to be heard, not as distant headlines, but as living truth.

This production is both an act of remembrance and resistance, reclaiming narrative through theatre and refusing to be silenced.
